The majority of women realize that makeup removal is very important. Without regular skin cleansing, it is very easy to get irritated, acne, blackheads and other skin problems. Unfortunately, with sensitive skin, with a tendency to allergy, the makeup removers available in beauty stores can be a problem. Strongly cleansing milk, gels or bi-phase liquids can irritate the skin. That is why it is worth using natural makeup removals – homemade makeup remover, which does not contain preservatives, alcohols and other irritating ingredients.

Natural makeup removal – a highly valued trend

What is natural makeup removal? It is nothing else but the facial cleansing with the use of natural products or cosmetics based on natural ingredients. All this to get rid of makeup without harming our delicate skin.

During the regular makeup removal with popular milk, micellar waters or i-phase liquids, foams and gels, the skin has contact with many more or less irritating substances. The owners of hypersensitive skin, which is very easily irritated, can expect an allergic reaction due to parabens, alcohols, aromas, cleaning substances, etc.

The guarantee of gentle action is provided only by natural ingredients of cosmetics that do not react with the acid pH of the skin and do not change its natural hydro-lipid coat. In a nutshell – they cleanse the remains of makeup and impurities, but do not deprive the skin of natural protection and do not sensitize it.

Here is a list of products that are suitable for all skin types. You only need one of them, however, in order to choose the most beneficial one for you, it is advisable that you try out a few of the given methods.

1. Natural Oils – makeup removal with oils (OCM – oil cleansing method) had become one of the most popular methods. Beneficial properties of natural oils allow you to use them as an effective way to get rid of makeup. Ths way removing even waterproof makeup will not be a struggle and valuable nutrients such as fatty acids will give the skin a thorough wash. What’s more, makeup removal with oil works well even for people with acne or oily skin, because some facial oils have the ability to balance the level of sebum secretion and pH value. The most frequently chosen face makeup oil is castor oil, but because of its density it is worth mixing it with other oils, eg sunflower oil, almond oil or olive oil.

2. Aleppo soap – very popular Syrian soap made entirely of natural oils: laurel and olive. It has the properties of classic soap, but it is fully natural and multitasking. Soap from Aleppo can be used on the face, the whole body and even hair. It works antiseptically, thoroughly cleanses, reduces blackheads and pimples, supports wound healing. Also, it reduces the shine of oily skin and moisturizes dry skin. It does not cause allergic reactions and can be used on any skin type. You just have to remember to adjust this natural way of makeup removal to your needs by choosing the soap from Aleppo with the appropriate laurel oil content.

3. Dudu-Osun soap – African black soap can also work as a natural way to remove makeup. It has very strong cleansing abilities and is able to wash out even strong, waterproof makeup. At the same time, it does not irritate and does not harm the skin, because it contains a blend of only natural ingredients: shea butter, aloe, cocoa, palm oil, honey and red sandalwood. You might have encountered opinions that would discourage you from cleansing your face with soaps due to their astringent properties. Yes, it is true if you don’t use Dudu-Osun soap. Black African soap works well for makeup removal because it removes impurities, excess sebum and makeup, and also reduces discolourations and leaves the skin moisturized.

4. Physiological saline – when it comes to makeup removal, it works as a replacement for regular water because it contains much more skin-friendly pH. However, clean water changes the acidic pH of the skin, which causes its drying out and irritation. Saline solution works more gently, similarly to micellar water. It is worth remembering that physiological saline for makeup removal works only if we like ‘makeup no make-up’ style. It will not get rid of waterproof cosmetics. In combination with an infusion of marigold or chamomile, it becomes a wonderful skin toner.
