Pedicure at your home – step by step
Pedicure of feet is equally important as manicure of hands. The truth is, every woman would like to make her nails look as good as they possibly can. Therefore, they are going to do everything what is necessary in order to obtain pretty and healthy nails. One of the methods is doing pedicure at home. Learn, how to do it on your own.
Firstly – Feet bath
Prepare a bowl full of warm water mixed with soap, a gel or other moisturizing cosmetic. Put your feet into the bowl and hold them there for 15 minutes. In such a way the epidermis covering heels and area around nails becomes softer – it will be easier to remove dead skin cells afterwards. If the heels are covered with thick, hard and rough skin layer, use a heel filer or a pumice stone in order to smooth this part of your body. The best ones are accessories that have different kinds of abrasive surfaces. If the epidermis is still too rough for you, then try applying a foot scrub. What is more, you can make use of a bath with essential oils which help you also to relax. Feet bath will be a perfect starting point of pedicure.
Secondly – Getting the nails ready
If you finish taking bath and exfoliating heel epidermis cells, it is time to take care of nails. Start from removing cuticles using a wooden cuticle pusher stick or simply cut them out. If you prefer the second method, remember that the newly grown cuticle will be stronger and thicker when they grow out. Now, you can file the nail plates using either a gloss or paper emery board. Try to round the corners in order to make the nails look better. If you are going to cover nail plates with a nail polish, it is suggested to mattify their surface first. Thanks to this procedure, the colour cosmetic will hold longer.
Thirdly – Pedicure
When your nails passed through all of the above-mentioned stages, then they are ready for decorating. Start with applying a primer. It will make the nail polish more durable and resistant to mechanical damages. What is more, nails will not get discoloured. When you finish coating the nails with the primer, make it hard under a UV lamp. In a case you do not own any, you have to wait until the product dries on its own. After that, apply one or two layers of your favourite nail polish. When it dries out too, finish doing pedicure by covering the nails with top coat or with a nail conditioner.
