Enzyme peel – how it works and its purpose
It is extremely effective, although it has a delicate effect. It does not have abrasive particles but removes the epidermis. It works best on sensitive skin, but it will be also beneficial for acne skin. What are we talking about? This is, of course, an enzyme peel.
How does an enzyme peel work?
Enzyme peel gently exfoliates the skin thanks to the content of plant enzymes. These include, for example, bromelain obtained from pineapple and papain obtained from papaya. These ingredients stimulate skin cells to regenerate and accelerate the formation of new ones. In addition, they cleanse skin pores, moisturize and smooth out the skin. Enzyme peels are used in the form of masks applied to the skin for several minutes.
Who will benefit from enzyme peels the most?
Enzyme peels can be used regardless of skin type which means that everyone will benefit from them. They work great on both dry and oily skin. This type of cosmetic does not contain abrasive particles, so it does not irritate or damage the epidermis. Enzyme peeling can be performed in a beauty salon and at home.
How to use enzyme peels?
To prepare the face for the peel, firstly, wash it with a toner. Then, apply a thin layer of the cosmetic either to the whole face or only to selected parts, depending on your needs. After about 10 minutes, wash the face with lukewarm water. If you feel burning or itching during the procedure, immediately wash the product off your skin. Irritation is possible. To avoid it, run an allergy test two days before the planned treatment.
DIY Enzyme peel with papaya
To prepare the enzyme peel yourself, you will need: 1 tablespoon oatmeal and 1/4 cup pulp made of papaya or ground fruit seeds. How to prepare this home-made cosmetic? Blend all ingredients in the blender. If the consistency is too runny, you can add a little more oatmeal. Then apply the scrub to your face for about 20 minutes. After this time, wash it down with lukewarm water. Papaya is rich in vitamins C and E, which will nourish your complexion.
