How to do Afro?
Afro is a fairly characteristic hairstyle. If your hair is naturally curly or wavy, then you are lucky because this kind of hair facilitate the easiest way to obtain Afro. If you would like to do this hairstyle on your head, you will need only two things to prepare: a hairspray and a comb. Suffice to backcomb the hair near the scalp and fix the new hairdo with the strong hold hairspray. Unfortunately, it is much more difficult to do Afro on straight hair. Rolling hair in sections on the hair rollers, backcombing and hair-spraying is time-consuming and the results are not always durable. Not durable but nobody says that this hairdo is impossible to obtain for straight hair owners.
How to do Afro?
First of all, you have to rub a hair mousse for curls into hair. Then, comb all the strands back. Now, time for toilsome hair curling process. Roll the strands of hair around small rollers. Remember, the strands have to be thin and firmly curled. If your rollers are not small enough, you can replace them with plastic straws or curl-papers. When you choose this manner of doing Afro, remember to support the straws or curl-papers with either hairpins or small rubber bands. The rolled strands have to be arranged tightly to each other or to the scalp.
After that, put on your head a thermal cap or use a hooded hair dryer – they will accelerate the process of making hair curly. Drying process should last from 15 to 30 minutes. Before you take off the rollers, wait until the strands of hair cool down. Otherwise your curls will become undone. In a case, you are not an owner of this kind of professional hairdresser’s devices, then you have to sleep in the rollers. Obviously, it will be uncomfortable but this is the price that should be payed in order to be beautiful the next day.
Now, all the curls have to be divided into smaller strands to get volume boost. You can do it using either your fingers or a comb with wide arranged teeth. Next, backcomb the hair near the scalp and apply a strong hold hairspray. When your Afro hairstyle is done, you can decorate it with colourful scarfs or with a big, round sunglasses in hippie style.
