Mineral makeup cosmetics. How are they differt from traditional cosmetics?

beauty.jpgMineral cosmetics have the same function as traditional cosmetics, but they differ from their composition and properties. They are extremely gentle for the skin, so they can be used by women with sensitive, allergic and acne skin. Mineral cosmetics also work well after plastic surgery and even radiological irradiations, because their gentle formula will not irritate the skin. What other properties do mineral cosmetics have and what is their composition? How are they different from traditional cosmetics?

Mineral cosmetics – properties

Mineral cosmetics are based on a minimal number of natural ingredients, which is why they are hypoallergenic and do not irritate. Any woman can use them regardless of the type and problem of the skin.

Mineral cosmetics have a loose texture, but they blend with the skin very well. They are dense, thanks to which the products are perfectly attached to the skin. Their next attributes include performance and the fact that they do not stain clothes.

Mineral cosmetics – composition

Mineral cosmetics do not contain preservatives, oils, waxes or fragrances. These products are one hundred percent natural, which is why they consist of crystal-clear minerals. The most common are zinc oxide, titanium dioxide, mica and coloured pigments of natural origin, i.e. oxides of iron, chromium, manganese and ultramarine.

The basic ingredients of mineral cosmetics

Mica – has a brightening effect on the complexion, enables optical flattening of fine wrinkles and gives the skin a satin or pearly gloss.

Zinc oxide – has astringent, soothing and antibacterial properties. It lightly heals bumps, improves the healing process of skin changes and regulates the secretion of sebum.

Titanium dioxide – a natural sunscreen (about 15 SPF), which is responsible for the concealing properties of the cosmetic.

Zinc oxide and titanium dioxide form the base of foundations and appear in eyeshadows, blushers and concealers.

Iron oxides – decide on the color of cosmetics and do not irritate the skin.

Zinc and titanium white – are responsible for the intensity of the colour of the cosmetic (the more of them, the lighter the shade of the powder).
