Eyelash extensions. Contraindications and alternatives

Eyelash extensions. Contraindications and alternativesAllergic eye diseases, balding eyelids, hyperactivity, hair pulling disorder and dry eye syndrome. These are only a few of the contraindications to eyelash extensions. Regrettably, this method is not ideal for every one. There’s no point in panicking, though. There are some alternatives (e.g. eyelash serums) that will be discussed in the article.

Although eyelash extensions may seem completely non-invasive, they are not. If they were, there wouldn’t be so many contraindications. There a few of them and refer to various types of eye area diseases. People who suffer from such illnesses cannot do eyelash extensions so the treatment is potentially harmful. Maybe, we should decide on a much milder, more effective and all natural eyelash serum e.g. NANOLASH.

What are the contraindications to eyelash extensions?

Who should avoid eyelash extensions? Sadly, although it is a highly popular treatment, there are lots of situations in which it is pointless or even harmful. We must bear that in mind. Who should forget about eyelash extensions and look for alternatives? We are presenting the most common and important contraindications.

Madarosis (lack of eyelashes) is the first thing that comes to our mind. Eyelash extension includes attaching synthetic hairs to natural lashes. If our eyelids are bald (regardless of the cause), there is nothing we can glue false lashes to. Unfortunately, there is no eyelash artist that would be able to tackle this problem. On the other hand, an eyelash and eyebrow serum would work excellently.

Trichotillomania (hair pulling disorder). In this case eyelash extension is possible yet pointless. Why? It is a mental illness (affects 2-3% of the population) that appears through obsessive eyelash pulling. Trichotillomania patients cannot resist from plucking and pulling their lashes or hair. Therefore, eyelash extensions make no sense – after one or a few days the lashes will be pulled out again. It is a complete waste of money and never brings any effects.

Dry eye syndrome appears through improper (too low) moisture of eyeballs. If your eyes are not regularly hydrated by tears, you suffer from discomfort, itching, irritation and even inflammation. Tears protect our eyes from impurities. Eyelash extensions are senseless in this case. What happens when we feel itching or burning? We automatically rub and scratch the eyes trying to soothe them. In this way we pull out, break and damage the effects of eyelash extensions. Unluckily, dry eye syndrome lowers the durability of the treatment.

Eye diseases (also allergic) pose another serious barrier on our way to beautiful eyelashes. If we suffer from any eye disorders, we cannot decide on eyelash extensions. Due to allergic eye diseases, eye area is very sensitive and weak. Such ailments also result in seasonal or cyclical eyelash loss. Therefore, eyelash extension is impossible if there are no natural hairs that we could attach fake lashes to. Chemosis, watering, conjunctival injection and feeling of discomfort prevent quick and trouble-free eyelash extension treatment. The risk of complication is too high.

Hyperactivity has no direct influence on the quality of the treatment and effects but it makes the procedure far more difficult. Eyelash extension usually takes up a few hours. You must be patient and calm throughout the whole treatment. We are lying on a facial bed with eyes closed, we let the technician to operate with metal tools around our eyes. Being hyperactive and impatient won’t make it easier for the beautician. What is more, we may end up with pulled out hairs and damaged eyeballs.

What are alternative options?

Dreams of long eyelashes are still possible to realize. It is a good idea to try e.g. home eyelash care methods which lead to lash growth in some cases (very rarely and only if we apply oil or vaseline regularly). Yet, eyelash extensions bring better and – most of all – quicker effects than natural eyelash care. Can we sort it out somehow?

Nanolash eyelash and eyebrow serum

Best serum lashes NanolashQuick. The application takes up only a few minutes a day. First effects of extension appear within 2-4 weeks. Normally, eyelashes gain volume after four weeks. Their length may be even doubled up to the third month of treatment.

Easy. The serum is supposed to nourish the bulbs so it is applied to the lash line. There is a thin, precise and very handy brush which makes the application far easier. The formula – colourless and watery – is almost immediately absorbed.

Effective. Both clinical tests and surveys have shown that Nanolash eyelash and eyebrow serum is number one among eyelash growth products. It outclasses eyelash extensions because it delivers beautiful, expressive and natural effects.

Long-lasting. Eyelash extensions bring effects for about a month (provided that we regularly do fill-ins) whereas the serum provides your lashes with spectacular length which lasts very long. Instead of making the natural hair weaker, we make it stronger and it works.

Complex – we have already proved that eyelash extensions aren’t suitable for everyone whereas eyelash and eyebrow serum can be used even by those who struggle with bald eyelids or eye diseases. It nourishes, regenerates and strengthens eyelashes thanks to natural composition.

Cheap. Costs are crucial and worth mentioning. The price of Nanolash serum is similar to the cost of a mascara. It lasts twice as long (six months) so the cost is lower. Eyelash extensions are one of the most expensive treatments so the serum wins the victory.

Great article! I was just looking for something effective that would regenerate my lashes after taking off lash extenions. Too bad that the beauticians do not warn what may happen to your natura lashes after wearing eyelash extensions

I’m not sure whether a cheaper one can be as good as this one. That one has a very good composition and does not irritate the eye. I already had a few less expensive and some more expensive serums so I can compare them

I use a good mascara and sometimes apply individials or cluster lashes. That’s enough for me.
